Keep Motivated. Stay Moving. Don’t Stop!

Here’s some things to print and keep on your office wall:

Be Easy To Manage

Look at the way people see you as a mirror of yourself

Raise the expectations of yourself

Don’t worry about the things you can not control

People don’t care who you know, until they know you care.

Know what you believe – be the captain of the ship and identify the destination

Relentless Preparation – Be Prepared for Murphy’s Law

The intention to be wealthy is not enough – commit.

Get past your past. Yesterday ended last night.

The Bridge Builder – This is posted on my wall.

I think this poem is magnificently written. It’s a great poem to give your dad or grandfather. It reminds me greatly of mine.

The Bridge Builder

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim-
That sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when he reached the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You are wasting strength in building here.
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way.
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?”

The builder lifted his old gray head.
“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,
“There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him.”

Charity and National Health Care

This idea of a National Health Care program is completely opposite of Thomas Jefferson’s intentions in the Declaration of Independence, in the U.S. Constitution and in the attached “Bill of Rights”. Do you realize that all three documents spend 90% of their time espousing what the government shouldn’t be doing?  The government “shall not abridge the freedom of speech, shall not take your home to quarter soldiers, shall not violate your property rights, shall not . . . shall not . . .shall not.

Painting of Jefferson by Rembrandt Peale (1805)
Image via Wikipedia

The goal of the Founders was to create a government that wouldn’t take over our lives.  Moreover, the Constitution also sets forth what the government CAN do as well.  Congress can coin money, create laws that protect us and provide for the common defense. That’s it. That’s all the government was formed to do. And basically since Roosevelt, our Presidents and elected officials have spit on the Constitution to get re-elected.

How many times, during elections, have you been told what a candidate will start doing for you? They’re always telling us how they’re going to fix things when they get into office and it’s always something the government is going to do to fix it.  How about the Department of Education, Food & Drug Administration, Social Security Retirement, and now the ownership and management of banks, auto manufacturers and soon Health Care.

None of these things are bad things to do, but they’re not what the government is authorized to do nor are they things the government should do.

I’m willing to give up some of what I have because much of what I have is as wrong as a National Health Care program. Free Government Schools, Social Security and Unemployment are “gifts” that society now treats as rights. When a National Health Care program is passed, it won’t be long before it’s considered a natural right, too.

Where are people with charitable hearts going to go when the government provides everything? And when is government going to recognize that charity, private enterprise and human nature will come to the aid when beckoned. Soup kitchens, scholarships, and small charities nationwide have been helping people with health care, school and simple things like food and shelter for years.

When did the world give up on their efforts and decide that eliminating them was better than bolstering them?

How to Research Your Favorite Hotel, Resort Or Vacation Destination

The internet is a wonderful place to research your favorite hotel, resort or vacation destination. In fact, because of this easy-to-access information hotels and tourist attractions alike are having to pay extra special attention to their customers. They’re now also forced to make sure their hotel rooms, park trails, and restaurant floors are especially clean. There are just too many ways for the common person to make his opinion known.
Go Daddy $7.49 .com Sale!

Let’s start with the easiest place to do research…TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor has millions of reviews on everything. In fact, when you search for a hotel on Yahoo, TripAdvisor is who pops up after you’ve selected the hotel you’re interested in. And beyond the reviews, people have profile’s on TripAdvisor that you can access and actually ask questions about the person’s experience or review. It’s probably the most commonly used site to do vacation research.

Now for a bit more obscure but often more helpful…Flickr. Flickr is a photo sharing site where millions of people have posted their vacation and travel photos. If you’re headed to Jamaica and aren’t sure which of their waterfalls you want to visit, search Flickr for the name of that waterfall. You’ll likely find tons of photos from the place and will really be able to tell if the waterfall is just a trickle down the side of a hill, or a beautiful gusher off the side of a mountain.

Finally, Facebook is another great place to look. There are lots of groups on Facebook where people talk about their experiences. The group My Favorite Place To Take Kids On Vacation Is…has great postings about places I’d never heard of before. For instance the Strong Museum in New York is a museum that celebrates “play”. They have toys, games and lots of hands-on exhibits. They even have a Mr. Potato Head exhibit with a life-size Mr. Potato Head. Groups like this are awesome for finding new places you’ve never heard of and to ask others what their experiences have been like.

If you want to check out that Facebook group, go here: OR HERE

Work From Home Doesn’t Mean the Work Will Be Easy

Working from home doesn’t mean you’re going to have lots of time to play with the kids, watch movies and do the dishes. To succeed from home, on your own, you’re going to need a better work ethic than you did in your day job. The difference is every minute you spend will result in dollars in your pocket.

I’ve been working from home for a while now. Just like you the work started out as a part time job to make sure I had some income in case something went wrong with my job. I’ll tell ya, it’s a good idea to start before you quit or get fired, there’s a lot of work to do before you’ll really be making money.

Let’s take networking marketing as an example. While the network marketing model of old required home parties, discussions with family and friends and the inevitable loss of friends, the new model requires none of that. To be successful you’ll need to develop some “about me” style websites, sales pages, create Facebook accounts and Twitter followers. You’ll to have a variety of places on the internet where others can find and learn about you. That desire to hear more is where the sales come in.

To make money using Google ads, you’ll need to have a website in place that gets traffic. That traffic generation part is what takes a bit of time to create. Whether its posting your site’s photos on Flickr, commenting on relevant blog and article posts, writing articles like this one, or building pages that rise to the top of the search engine results – all of that takes time.

Affiliate marketing is the same way. In order to sell things through links or e-mails, you have to have built a list of people to receive these links. Whether that’s Twitter, opt-in pages, Facebook groups or purchasing e-mail lists, it all takes time – the kind of time you don’t have once you are unemployed.

Do You Have a Passion For Travel?

Do you have a passion for travel? Is it in your blood and you’re always looking for new places to travel and visit? How about helping others travel? Do you love sharing your trips with people in hopes they go there as well? Have you ever helped someone plan a trip? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then this article is for you.

Travel is my passion; I’ve lived in 12 states, visited 25 countries and am looking for new experiences every day. I one day decided that I really ought to turn this passion for travel into an income stream. If I’m going to be looking at travel websites, suggesting places and clipping cool places to visit from magazines, what’s stopping me from turning this great hobby into a business.

So I checked out different companies that help you become a travel agent and found a great one that fits all my needs. You have to pay a nominal fee to get started, but with that fee you get a website like Travelocity, customer support, travel agency insurance, access to travel agent rate trips, good research, back-end booking tools, internet links to include in my blog postings and Facebook page and lots of training. (Fortunately training is more like fun to me, so bring on the training).

If you desire to take your passion for travel to the next level, check out the many internet companies that enable people to become travel agents. Be wary of any hype you see and be wary of any warnings you see. There are many internet travel agencies out there and they all like to ‘bash’ each other on the internet, so don’t believe what you read from third parties. Go directly to the different companies websites and learn what you can learn.

The method by which I’ve taken to turn my passion into profits has been very rewarding; the one thing I truly love is having turned my passion for travel into profits. I now enjoy teaching people how to do it on their own and enjoy writing about it in articles and on my blog.

Contact me if you’d like to do the same. tri4time@hotmail.com

Who Wants To Go To Costa Rica?

So I’m planning to take the kids to Costa Rica next March for a short adventure. I decided I’d better become a Costa Rica Specialist if I’m going to go there, so yesterday I finished all the classes and got my certificate. I must say there is a lot going on in Costa Rica.

For the kids, I think Costa Rica will be a fantastic vacation place. They’ve got volancoes that spit lava into the air, Macaw’s that fly from the jungle to the mangroves at night in a big swath of red flying across the sky, zip lines tours, aerial trams, monekys, sloths, butterflys, crocodiles, beaches, snorkeling. . .the list goes on and on.

If you’re up for going to Costa Rica March of 2010, let me know. I’m going to plan a pretty fun trip for kids. In the meantime, if you’re just looking for fun places to take kids, check out My Facebook Group for that very purpose.

Otherwise, I’m also an Austria, Romania and Croatia Specialist if you’re looking to travel to any of those places! Now I can add Costa Rica Specialist to that list. Ciao!

Teenagers Can Make Money Online

Teenagers can make money online as easily as anyone else. In fact, in many cases computer-savvy teens can make faster money than adults still ‘learning the ropes’. A teen’s best bet to make money is owning a website that earns dollars from Google ad clicks.

Suppose you’re interested in ring tones as are all your friends. 99% of the ring tones sites are one that feature ones you can download or create. Most of these companies buy Google ads to make it easier for you to find them. So create a website ABOUT ring tones, not necessarily with downloadable ring tones. On each page of the site write something about the different kinds, stereo vs mono, tones vs songs, downloading vs creating, etc. And put Google ads on the site for people to click to go to other ring tone sites. The ads alone will bring in plenty of money.

Teenagers also write reports and do a ton of school work. Create a website about writing school reports, show the different research ideas, provide science fair idea – maybe even downloadable kits. A site like that might also be something the teen’s teachers would appreciate and give credit for. Either way, traffic to ads equals sales.

Teenagers are involved in a lot of after school activities like soccer, cup stacking and piano. Create a website about one of these topics, a topic you’re already interested in. Write about that topic, add pictures and Google ads and you’ll be making money in no time.
