Letters From Dan

Well, this started out as a journal of sorts. Some stories, my adventures with my buddy Mark, and my journey to reinvent myself as an Small Business Marketing guy with an emphasis on all things “internet”.

I’d venture to say that 70% of what you’ll find here is about marketing small businesses using the internet – which is about the same percentage of my waking hours that I work in the field. The other 30% reflects exactly that – the 30% of my time that I’m not working.

Different from the site are my “Notes”. From Meetup groups to workshop, from speaking engagements to attendance, I produce “notes” that I e-mail back to the attendees and interested parties. They range from how to set up a blog, to podcasting to making videos for YouTube. If you’d like to get copies of the notes, look for the form pretty much everywhere.

I also produce video blogs on my YouTube channel, and discuss internet marketing on my Facebook page. In fact, you’ll find that most people who leave comments on a particular post do so on my Facebook page, and not necessarily directly on LettersFromDan. I didn’t like that at first, but I’ve begun to grasp it and enjoy it more that way, now.

Aside from work, I’m married to a wonderful woman and we have 4 kids. (I tell people 1 is OK, 2 is much better, 3 is ideal for parents – but 4. . . there’s no logic to having 4.) Outside of that, I’m a triathlete, sweet tooth, philanthropist (that’s not a fossil hunter), movie watcher, typo generator and travel guy.
