Darren Crawford wrote about this concept, but with a different twist at http://onlinemarketingedge.com/the-death-of-the-used-bookstore/. And Whitney Hoffman wrote about a bit about this idea on her blog, too: http://www.whitneyhoffman.com/2010/09/03/bookstores-and-public-life/

I guess the takeaway from these three articles is be wary, be vigilant and make sure you not only understand your business and your competitions - but also that guy in the garage down the street whose idea is about to wipe you out.

I appreciate your kind words. The NAMS Keyword Research product really is good. I couldn't believe how much Karon Thackston knew - I'll be checking out her keyword products.

Dan, thanks so much for sharing your keyword research knowledge at NAMS4. All of you gave great tips that I will be using for my own websites. Looking forward to re-listening to the MP3 too.

Hi Dan!

One of the reasons you are the first to go from NAMS student to NAMS presenter is that you are always learning - keep it up!

I just did my online check in for my trip to NAMS 4 and, sure enough, Air Tran was offering me "premium" seats at the exit rows and at the front of the plane. Thye charged me $15.00 for one checked bag (one way) and were even offering me "premium" boarding vs general boarding even though I now had an assigned seat.

Harumph!

I think the Facebook Page should have a completely different utility than the website - but also link to the website should you desire the other purpose.

For instance you go to the Threadless Facebook page to vote on new T-shirt designs, whereas, you go to the website to buy t-shirts.

I believe P.E.T.S. Inc is the page where you load up the photo of the bug and the Pets people tell you what it is and how to get rid of it. Their website is for calling them, getting hours of operation, etc. . .

If it's just a teaser to get you to the site, I bet you the fans don't come more than once, really.
