    What is YTB?

A few people have asked me what is YTB, which is strange because the answer is quite simple, really. YTB is Travelocity, it’s Orbitz, it’s 1-800 Flowers, it’s Ticketmaster and it’s Hotels.com all rolled into one. The difference between YTB and any of the others is not its scope or wide variety of products, it’s the business model.

Network marketing is a business model just like a sole proprietorship, a franchise, a hub-and-spoke, or a corporation with branches. The founders of YTB felt the only way to compete with the big boys like Orbitz was to use word-of-mouth marketing instead of trying to out advertise them.

Seriously, Expedia was bought for $5 billion dollars at one point and they spend gazillions on advertising. How do you compete with that? You could set-up a franchise type deal with YTB stores in every mall, but you and I both know that you use the internet to book travel.

So if you’re going to go to the internet, you’re going to need a lot of mouths talking about your company – thus network marketing. So what is ytb? It’s a network marketing company, which is publicly traded, where the individual business owners peddle travel booking engines. You’re probably familiar with Pampered Chef, Discovery Toys, Avon . . . they’re all the same type of business model.

There are some advantages to using a YTB site to book your travel. (If there weren’t, they’d go out of business). 1 is the number of things you can do on one site. Did you know they have 5 hotel booking engines on the hotel tab? How about almost all the major cruise lines including Disney? How about a system that remembers your preferences when you log-in? YTB is great product in the company of great competition.

If you’re interested in signing up for YTB or learning more, feel free to contact me. I can give you all the details you need and tell you how to get started.

Make Commissions From Event or Travel Tickets

There’s a pretty easy way to make commissions from event or travel tickets. If you have a travel site or blog where you talk about places you travel, having a link to buy airlines tickets or hotel reservations would be an ideal targeted monetization model.

I own clippershiptravel.com, a site that offers all the ticketing and traveling features of the big travel sites like Expedia and Travelocity. In fact, clippershiptravel.com’s booking engine is the same booking engine Travelocity uses, so you can be assured that the prices, fares, and ticketing will rival at least Travelocity.

Any particular page within the site is linkable and building a widget to linked photo to that part is easy as well. For instance, here’s a link to great cruise deals that I’ll make commissions on. I could easily insert a photo of a cruise ship here and say ‘click here’ for great cruise deals.

There are a few services out there that enable you these options to monetize your travel blog or site. But in addition to travel, you’ll be able to feature concert tickets, flowers, and even Crab Cakes affiliate program.

There’s no better travel ticket affiliate system or event ticket affiliate system on the net.

If you’re interested to explore this idea further, contact me at facebook.com/danrmorris or tri4time@hotmail.com or leave me a comment here.
